FlexEnergi advanced edge DERMS,
the control layer.
Our distributed energy resource management system runs at the edge — enrolling, monitoring, forecasting, optimizing, and dispatching every enrolled device with location-aware accuracy so utilities can trust the capacity is there when called.

DERMS FOR TODAYS CHALLENGES
First-generation demand response platforms lean on periodic, system-wide events — a handful of thermostat adjustments each month to trim peak demand. Built before wide adoption of EVs, batteries, and heat pump water heaters, that architecture was never designed for the localized, fast-moving challenges utilities now face, or the growing strain from electrification, data center growth, and extreme climate events. FlexEnergi’s Advanced Edge DERMS is built as a different kind of resource — one capable of continuous, locational optimization across feeders and substations.
Register & Monitor
Enrolls and registers 80+ device types across residential, commercial & industrial, and agricultural accounts, then continuously monitors their telemetry. See supported devices.
Forecast & Optimize
Day-of and day-ahead available-capacity forecasts with an hourly confidence level, mapped against day-ahead LMP pricing to shed or build load where it’s worth the most.
Locational Dispatch
Dispatch at any scale — feeder, substation, device type, or system-wide — triggered by system load, LMP pricing, temperature, or an ADMS/OpenADR signal, or set manually. Request firm MW for a set duration with automatic re-forecasting, run managed EV charging programs, or build load rapidly when demand suddenly drops.
Measurement & Verification
Fail-to-control and connectivity detection, opt-out tracking per event and location, and X-in-Y baselining as approved by regulators — closing the data gap between dispatch and delivered performance.
One Platform, Four Views
Consumers
Landing pages and a guided enrollment flow for new and returning residential customers — connect a device in minutes.
Commercial Sites
A commercial customer portal with multi-site or single-site views, live telemetry during events, and settlement by season, month, or year to date.
Utility Operations
A live VPP dashboard and dispatch portal — real-time monitoring by feeder and substation, with shed, build, shift, or firm dispatch.
Program Managers
Reports by program, location, and enrollment date, incentive payments by season and OEM, and per-participant records.
Beyond Traditional Demand Response
Advanced Edge DERMS sits between enrolled devices, grid operations systems, market systems, and device OEMs — pulling in device telemetry, AMI, SCADA, weather, and market pricing, then running forecasting, optimization, dispatch, messaging, and M&V as one continuous loop. Grid conditions from an ADMS or real-time SCADA telemetry can trigger dispatch directly, and FlexEnergi can in turn trigger other DERMS platforms.
Locational Congestion Relief
Dispatch flexible capacity to relieve congestion and extend equipment lifetime on specific feeders or substations — not only at the system level.
Managed EV Charging
Actively shifts and shapes EV charging load, turning a fast-growing source of demand into a flexible, dispatchable resource for the grid.
Load Build for Grid Balancing
Rapidly builds load to offset sudden drops in demand — such as data center fluctuations — and to absorb surplus wind and solar output, minimizing renewable curtailment.
Keeping Rates Low
For co-ops, CCAs, and public utility districts that buy power from the market or through PPAs, FlexEnergi lowers demand and transmission charges and extends substation and transformer lifetime. See who we serve.
